Bird Is The Word Wonder Challenge

Well I don't know about anyone else but I am sooo glad Christmas is over! It was fun but I am so tired, a little fatter and ready to start getting back into a routine! Part of that routine of course will include time to scrap again! In search of a non-xmas themed layout I am joining in at Bird Is The Word for their 'Wonder' challenge...

I hope everyone has had a fabulous Christmas and are all set to see the New Year out! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to. TFL xox

Once Upon A Sketch Dec 15th Challenge

Well not long now until Christmas and what better way to celebrate everyone's favorite holiday than with the current challenge at Once Upon A Sketch! This months challenge is to journal about how you spend your Christmas day as well as using one of Nadia's stunning sketches. And here is my DT sample.......

Isn't it funny how some photos you have a more emotional reaction to, than others. For me, this photo makes me feel so much. Apart from being very proud of my adorable little elf, every time I look at this photo I can almost feel him in my arms, his exact weight, how it felt to rub my lips along the top of his soft little head and breathe in his smell. I was 22 when I had Mitchell and at the time I thought I was very grown up but looking back I think I was really only discovering who I was. His first 12 months, I think I was on auto pilot. He was a demanding baby who would never sleep without being held and breastfeed up to 8 times a night until he was 8 months old when I started to ween him. I never really had a break as he would never have a bottle EVER! I was SOOOO tired, sometimes I'm not sure I appreciated those special moments as much as I do now.  I am sure it is the same for most first time mums. I wish I had had the opportunity to have more but am so thankful to have had him. He is and will always be the center of my universe which everything else revolves around!!

So anyway here are the prizes up for grabs. Head on over and check out all the amazing DT samples and I really look forward to seeing what you all create!
The winner of this challenge, as chosen by the Design Team will receive these 2 paper lines from Les Papiers De Pandore!

One more sponsor for our November 15th challenge is the amazing Australian chipboard company Imaginarium Designs . They have been so generous to sponsor us all year with their beautiful chipboard and you can purchase it through Seriously Scrpabooking. They are giving away this gorgeous chipboard collection to one randomly chosen winner.

One lucky person, chosen randomly,  will receive this prize from Handmade By Suzanne!

Scrap Stuff & Me

I thought it might be fun every now and then when I do a post on my blog, not just to share scrapping stuff, but to tell you something about myself (when I have the time). Sometimes big stuff, sometimes just something random! So this weeks
'About Me' is..
.Do you know that my name isn't actually Georgia? Well not legally anyway...My birth certificate will tell you I'm Georgina. The name Georgia came about when I first started working as a teen and I got one of those funky little name badges, well they missed the N and soon enough everyone started calling me Georgia. Apart from actually preferring it, there is one big thing I noticed that not adding a N in there does. Everyone just uses 'Georgia', not every variation known to man that comes about when you are a Georgina.

I got called "George" which is fine if you are...

Or there is "Georgie", which is only cute if you are...

or my all time hated variation "Gina" which brings about images of....

So apart from a few old time rellies, no one ever calls me Georgina (or variations) anymore...thankgod!

Now onto the scrappy stuff lol. This is a layout I did for the December sketch challenge over at Handmade By Suzanne. I have used the new Echo Park Times & Seasons ( yes it's not Webster's Pages lol) along with a few hybrid elements.

Well time for me to get my ironing board out, hope everyone is having a more exciting weekend than mine!!! TFL xox

Challenge Me Happy December

Just a quick post.
This is a layout I created for Challenge Me Happy, which this month is a color challenge.

I have used Webster's Ladies & Gents collection which matched this palette perfectly.

I have used Imaginarium Designs chipboard letters. I painted with a few layers of Gesso, inked the edges, applied Spun Sugar Distressed Stickles and then covered in Glossy Accents

In case your wondering, the lattice was all hand cut
( I'm hoping to get the feeling back in my fingers before xmas)

Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend xox

Bird Is The Word Adore Challenge

As always, playing along with the girls over at Bird Is The Word. This challenge is to use the word 'Adore' or variables somewhere on your layout. This is one of my favorite photos of my DS. I've used the original MME Lost & Found paper range, an oldie but a goodie. My first ever challenge entry was using this range, seems like it was ages ago but it has probably only been 6 months.

The chipboard is the gorgeous Imaginarium Designs...Click here to purchase

Have an awesome weekend peeps =) TFL xxo

Other ideas for journalling: an annual holiday or celebration, a specific event such as putting up the Christmas tree or pre Christmas traditions you might have leading up to Christmas, family time, snow covered fields or warmer weather, time off work, school holidays, change of weather, new season fruit.

I need help!!

I had heard about this but never thought it could happen to me! I am embarrassed to say I now have a severe Webster's Pages addiction. Symptoms include a sudden increase in your credit card limit, sleep deprivation and a whopping great blister on your thumb + a sore back from an overdose of fussing cutting. I fear I shall never buy another designer again and my pages with be eternally floral. What if it escalates? When Jess gets too old for girlie layouts will I have to resort to putting Mitchell in a dress? Adopt from China just for photo opportunity's or will I just pick random photos of little girls from the net to scrap to feed my addiction!

The proof - and all yes fairly minimalist for a WP addict, I must ration but I am building up to having every inch of my page covered...

This is for the letter "T" challenge over at Scrap Therapy . Notice the token paint splatters so I can pretend I am somewhat creative =)

This is for the 'Trust' challenge at Bird Is The Word using the sketch #184 (flipped) at Creative Scrappers

I must go....I think I can hear the postie coming.....
Love & Light G xox

Note: Please don't take the above seriously, I just have a warped sense of humor. I will be doing boy layouts with some WP, without forcing my son to become a transvestite lol..

Pencillines November Challenge

Seeing yesterdays post was a bit of a novel, I'll keep this short and sweet. This is my interpretation of the sketch challenge #259 over at Pencillines. I really love their sketches and DT samples, I always seem to forget to enter because they aren't on my blog feed. Finally remembered this month =)

I have a new love in my life....Webster's! I have been scraping for 8 months? now and never brought Webster's before. Not sure why, I think possibly I found it intimidating as it is just so darn gorgeous and have seen so many amazing pages, I wasn't sure if I was up for it. Well this is my second layout now I've done with Western Romance, I've done one with Botanical Christmas and my xmas cards are all Waiting For Santa. Currently am working on a LO with Seaside Retreat and have some older ranges coming in the mail. So you can expect to see Webster's overload for a while lol.

Scrap Jack & Scrap Crap November Challenge

I haven't had a chance to do a layout for Scrap Jack for a while but with the new awesome designer team layouts this month, I couldn't resist. I decided to jack Dana's layout and while having a sticky around her blog, I also came across this site, Scrap Your Crap. So I have used Dana's LO as a sketch and added the challenge at Scrap Your Crap, which is to use 3 mists or paints. In honor of using 'crap' (makes me laugh) this was a bit of a recycling project. Back in the day, before I had a husband and actually earned decent money, I had quite the penchant for designer clothes. Given that I would pay $200+ for designer jeans and things (yes really), I kept all the tags in a box, so that when they eventually made their way to eBay, I could quote how much I paid, in the hope that I could at least get some of the stupid amounts of money I spent back. The wonderful thing about this is, is that when you spend stupid amounts on clothes, the tags look really really fancy (just to make you feel better about your credit card bill). I found this box of tags on the weekend and pulled out all the fancy (and shameful ones), some of which are on this layout, including spare buttons from some of the tags, the string is from one too and (gulp) that badge...No I don't have tickets on myself, it came with some jeans and just kind of worked with my LO ok lol. I've used Glimmer Mists, Trunk Bay, Black Magic & Slate as well as some paint. Don't you love this paper? A lot of the layered look and some of the mist is printed. It's from Scrap Jack's sponsor this month, Scrap Friends. The brand is called ICC and hadn't heard of it before or could find ANY info on it, but I love it!

This photo was taken at DreamWorld on a family holiday. The essence of it is...I'm a piker. I don't do rides, or junk food, anything noisy, with too many kids, or scary...I just do Mum, who watches, tells them to put on sunscreen, have a toilet break yada yada. In fact, this doesn't just apply to theme parks, I don't swim ( but yes I can if I HAVE to), I have never camped, I don't bush walk, or do sport, I am bloody boring really and NEVER go out of my comfort zone. It is something I would like to change....before I get too old and grumpy lol.

Sorry for the long post, it appears I'm in a talkative mood today lol. TFL xoxo

Are you curious?

Afternoon all =) So I haven't really got a lot to show today apart from a few cards that I have made with scraps from other projects I've been working on this weekend. So....while photographing them, I thought I would take a photo of my scrap space. I am always curious about what other people's spaces look like. I have seen some that are so perfectly polished I would be scared to scrap in them and then others that resemble rooms you see on Foxtels Bio show, "Hoarders". I never really share anything about 'me', just LO's on here. So, if your curious, like me, about people's spaces, here's mine....

It's not pretty like some but very organised and functional. I've often gone to go buy pretty baskets and things for this space, then thought, "How many pieces of paper could I buy with that $150?".  Daron built me the shelf above the desk about 5 months ago. All my tubs up top are in reach with things like stamps, flowers, paint, trims and alphas. I have a little sewing space to the side, my "proper" sewing machine died after one too many layouts. I brought a cheapie which is rubbish so this area doesn't get used often. Under the shelf, I keep all my publishing stuff on one side and DT assignments to the other. Usually always OUAS. Nadia is the queen of organisation and it makes things so easy! SUYS is usually a bit of hodge podge and a mad dash to get everything together at the last minute lol. Under my table I have photos, a box for scrap paper and a box for bits and bobs!

This room is sort of a weird rumpus room.
Our house is 2 story, 2 bedrooms upstairs, 2 down, with this room downstairs. On the left of this photo is a weird little mini kitchen area with a fridge, cupboards and a sink, which is great for me when misting and painting and I can make a coffee anytime I like! On the right is my home office area, which seems to be gradually getting smaller as my scrap space gets larger! Directly opposite this wall is sliding glass doors which goes out to our lower deck and to this...

There is a bush area directly behind us with a small beach and jetty on one side of the end of our street, with a childrens park and swimming beach on the other. Completely useless to me as I haven't swam at a beach since I was about 7. But I do love the view. In summer we get big pools of dolphins that swim near the jetty and love playing around the boats. Plus, hubby LOVES fishing, part of the reason we moved here. So there you have it, MY space =)

oh and my cards lol....

Apologies for the quality of photos, the light here is really meeehhhh today!
