Rainy Saturdays

Afternoon girls =) Well it's a cold and rainy Saturday here in Tassie and I have decided to take a break from the current layout I am scrapping as I am starting to go cross eyed. I've been pretty much absent from blogland for what feels like forever. Even when I am here, I haven't really been HERE. Just seem to be posting the stock standard design team commitment posts that all seem to sound the same!

I have had a heap of unexpected amazing scrappy opportunities thrown my way the past few months and seem to be in a bit of tail spin trying to keep up. But saying that, I have loved every minute of it too. Mostly with publications and also teaching ( pretty scary lol). None of the details I can share for ages (never as much fun when you can't share is it!). So I am creating heaps and stuff that I actually like which is rare for me as I am normally never happy with 70% of what I create!  As for design team work, well I am doing it but haven't had as much time to create for them as I would like to. And speaking of which...I have one share...

This is for the latest challenge at Bird Is The Word, to use the word Touch. It is pretty clean and simple by my standards. And no my style hasn't changed any, it's more time issues as mentioned...

I have one more share for Bird Is The Word and then I will be stepping down from the team. Adore the challenges but I need to find a balance with everything and hate not having the time to commit to the layouts that I would like to be producing for them =)

Well that's it for me, until the next stock standard blog post lol...

Keeping The Best Sketch #43

Hey all =) Hope everyone is having a fabulous week! If you have got a bit of scrap time planned there is an awesome sketch challenge for you just gone up at Keeping The Best. So this is my take on it, I rotated the sketch...

I have used my favourite paper range which I never seem to tire of Amy Tangerine Sketchbook and have created my own background paper with watercolor paint.

And this is the sketch...

And in other news..I am going to do a toot. I never do toots for scrappy achievements apart from announcing new design team positions as...well it kind of feel a bit conceited but I am going to make an exception for this one as I am just soooo excited. So for facebook friends who have already seen this, apologies....

Recognize that chickie on the front cover! Yep it's me and my layout! I was invited by Scrap365 to submit a layout for a gallery back in June/July I think it was, before being invited on the Design Team. While scrolling through my facebook feed yesterday I spotted this! Made the cover! And yes I love it because it's mine but I also love it as it soooo awesome to see a mainstream mag embrace a grunge/mixed media layout for their cover rather than clean & simple.

And I can tell you now, I love this mag!! I have been working on projects the past fortnight for up and coming issues and for a DT member they are the type of projects you don't just tick of your list, they are the type of dynamic and creative ideas that make you brain storm, go and buy special things for, create new techniques and just really really want to create something special for! So if you can get a hold of a copy of this mag girls, you will love it, so many great ideas not just another '10 ways to use brads' *zzzzzzzzzzz* but techniques and ideas you can actually use!!

Ok so that's my toot over. Hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Bird Is The Word Story Challenge

Happy Friday scrappy friends =) I hope everyone has had a great week and an even better weekend planned. My week has just flown by with lots of scrappy projects on the go and all those yummy new release products to buy for my store! I almost forgot to drop by and share this with you all...the new challenge for Bird Is The Word which is to use the word 'Story' on your layout. My layout is quite different from my normal style, a little more classic. I thought I would have a play around with the new Basic Grey Paper Cottage range I got in a few weeks back. I really love these colors and although not my typical style, I did find it really easy to create with...

If you like these papers, I still have a few 'Time For Tea' kits available which features this range..click here.

Well off now to do some much need housework *sigh*.
Take care

Once Upon A Sketch September Challenge

Ok girls, how much of a challenge are you up for? Because this month at Once Upon A Sketch we are pairing up with the girls over at CSI for a SUPER challenge!! So not only do you have Nadia's fabulous sketch to work with you have the CSI palette and criteria as well!! We are having 4 challenges this month with a reveal every Saturday. This is this weeks challenge and you have 9 days to get to work on this one.....

For this challenge, you must use :
*the SKETCH provided
* all the colours in the SCHEME
* at least 2 elements from the EVIDENCE
* at least 1 element from the TESTIMONY!

I have to take my hat off to the CSI girls, how they pump out these incredible LO's every week, I don't know!! So for me...my creating process is very organic, give me a ton of criteria plus a deadline and I get anxiety. Got through it though and this is what I created....

We have been pulling record entry numbers over at Once Upon A Sketch the past few months so I am really interested to see who can conquer this one?

In other news, you may notice a new little DT badge on my sidebar...
I have been invited to join the design team at Scrap365 magazine in the UK. I am soooo excited about this one, they have some really creative and unique articles as well as a stellar design team.

So anyway, better go find something constructive to do...
Have an awesome weekend girls!!

Keeping The Best Sketch #42

Evening girls =) Hope everyone is having a great week!! I'm just stopping by to share the newest sketch challenge at Keeping-The-Best.

This is my sample layout..

And this is the sketch:

Everything on my layout is from the latest, Honey Be Mine kit from Paper Stories apart from the zip and paint...

Apologies for being a bit slack in the blogger/returning comments department the past fortnight. I have been really busy with the store and trying to scrap ahead a little with DT assignments as I really want to find the time to able to get stuck into doing some 'just for me' mixed media pages again. Always tough when you have deadlines though!!

So anyway thanks for stopping by and a huge thank you to those gorgeous ladies that leave me lovely comments!
