Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo Challenge

Hey again :)

3 days in a row I have now done a blog post. Yep, Christmas all organized and I have plenty of scrapping time...yay!

This is a art journal cover I have created for the Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo challenge to use strips on your project - yep right up my alley ;)

I have used a Prima Marketing/Finnabair journal along with paper strips from several collections by 7Dots Studio, Prima Marketing Vintage Vanity canvas strips and stamps along with various mists and paints.

Thanks for looking and a huge thank you to those that leave comments, it always makes me smile and I really do appreciate it :)

Simon Says Stamp Card Challenge

Hey guys :)

Dropping by for a share. I have really been getting into card making of late and decided to join in at the current Simon Says Stamp Card Challenge.

The challenge is to "anything sparkly goes, glitter, gems, stickles, glimmer sprays and paints etc :-)"
I have a real thing for gold right now so have colored my key trinket & some Webster's trim with gold alcohol ink and have also used some gold hinges, an Ingvild Bolme gold tap embellishment and jump rings. I have also added some chunky black glitter and 13Arts glass microspheres to my canvas butterfly's wings and some blue/black glitter along the base of my key.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ingvild Bolme Creations

Hey bloggers :)

Today I have a few more shares, these are part of my Design Team work for Ingvild Bolme. These were actually done about 5 months ago so feel quite old now to me lol. (We are doing a bit of a catch up!). It's funny, I think my style has even changed more since these...

I have used one of Ingvild's gorgeous Junkyard Findings Typo Zippers, Typo Bulb and Industrial Lamps along with a Shabby Chic Metal Treasures Frame which has been grunged up with coffee.

Next up is an art journal cover. 1997 was the year my son was born, I wanted to create a journal for him to document his first year. He's 16 now so I figured I better get to it before dementia sets in!

I have used another Junkyard Findings Typo Zipper as well as a Junkyard Findings Small Typo Bulb, Shabby Chic Resin Treasure bird from the Fly Away collection and finished off with a few little Tiny Junkyard Findings - Clock Parts and Bolts & Nuts.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Something a little exciting!

Hey guys :)

Dropping by today to share some awesome news!

I am so thrilled and honoured to have been asked to join this incredible line up of incredibly talented women for this fantastic online workshop.

I have just finished doing the Pop & Colors 1 workshop and I can tell you it was amazing. So many tutorials from such top notch scrappers! And the best things are you can work at your own pace ( the video tuts are available for 12 months!), there is an interactive forum and facebook page to share your work and ask questions, you can adapt each workshop to work with items in your stash, it is AWESOME value and best of all, if you are like me you can sit in your pj's and do them lol! What's not to love!!!

Inkido Guest Designer

Hey guys :)

How we all doing?
So it's quite late here right now and I am just finishing up in my craft room. While waiting for my current project to dry I thought I would stop in to share that I am lucky enough to be Guest Designer with Inkido this month!! Whoo hoo.

I have been working with the stunning Beautiful Memories which has lots of soft vintage style prints and florals in a range of colors.

First up I have a layout using a vintage photo of my mum...

Next up is a romantic shabby chic style card also using the Beautiful Memories range....

I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but I actually do custom design work from time to time as well as my DT gigs. Anyway, I did a heap of cards very similar to this design for a lovely lady in NSW to be gifts for special needs children to give to their teachers. Well she loved them and I think it had a lot to do with these gorgeous papers!

These papers ( and lots of other yummy goodies) can be purchased from:
http://www.papercraftscandinavia.com/

To check out some of the other gorgeous work by the Inkido Design Team:

So..fancy a sneak of what's on my desk...glue is still a bit wet

There may even be a video to go with this one ( if my editing skills don't fail lol) - stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by...

13 Arts October Challenge

Hey guys :)

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!! Highlight of mine was an awesome scrappy session with my bestie on Saturday. I decided to do something a little different for me and do an art journal page. This is for the October challenge at 13Arts :)

And this is the challenge prompt to draw inspiration from...

You can check out the challenge here

Ok so I have decided to add to this post to tell you what this page is about as it is fairly cryptic is it not? I guess in short it could be called social commentary? Move on if you don't care lol.

The woman in the picture is musical artist Tori Amos and the words are lyrics from a song called Precious Things. When I first heard Tori's music, I was in my early 20's. All the radio stations were playing bands like Bon Jovi & Poison, Madonna and Pat Benatar. And here was this wild eccentric red head who's album cover showed her breast feeding a pig. Her songs would take you on a journey and the lyrics were raw and powerful and she created songs that no one else dared at the time. About violent relationships, rape, balance of power in relationships, miscarriages, sexuality. But it was all incredibly cryptic and more like prose. It was raw but not in your face like Madonna or other artists that started to push those boundaries at that time. And she had the talent to back it up with an incredible classically trained voice and piano skills that I still have not heard matched.

Fast forward to the late nineties and she fades. Her music is no longer melodic, the lyrics have no meaning ( at least to me). The once feminist who openly slammed women such as Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie as role models for women was doing live shows at fashion events while wafer thin models strutted the cat walk and later transformed herself via plastic surgery to looking a few cuts away from looking like Sylvester Stallone's mum.

So this page expresses all those feelings for me, loss of someone who succumed to all the things she once hated. The mask I guess represents that hypocrisy.

All rather deep I guess haha.

Prima Marketing BAP

 Heya :)

So this week I indulged in a little scrappy retail therapy, the best kind of all.....NEW Prima products whoo hoo!! So I brought the new School Memories collection kit and 2 IOD collection kits + of course some new gorgeous flowers! As a scrapper of course I have a paper addiction but honestly it does take a bit for me to jump up and down about a range. And while I loved everything, I can tell you this, my heart skipped a beat when I opened the IOD Love Letters kit.

If you love vintage or even are even looking for a really gorgeous neutral collection to work in with other ranges....This is it!! Seriously blew my expectations out of the water. And with that I knew I needed to order 2 more collection kits ( I know, hoarder) and get creating with it straight away.

Hence a layout for this month's Prima BAP!!!

Prima Marketing Products:
IOD Love Letters Collection Kit
Bellas Flowers #570965 & #570989
Engraver Wood Button
Romance Novel Stamp
Sunrise Sunset Stamp
Vintage Mechanicals Numbers
Ingvild Bolme Junkyard Findings:
Jeans Buttons
Special Screws

You can check out the sketch here

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!
